gin, homemade rhubarb liqueur, lemon juice, egg white
The official VeryPink cocktail recipe:
(it’s a big cocktail, for a big coupe glass)
3 oz gin, I used Citadelle
2 oz homemade rhubarb liqueur
1/2 oz lemon juice
one egg white
Add all ingredients to the shaker without ice, and shake to combine. I always do 40 hard shakes from one end of the shaker to the other, like a piston. Add ice, 40 more shakes. Strain into a coupe glass and check out your biceps, because that counts as an upper-body workout and you are hot AF. 💪
Someone else told me, either here or on Facebook, to use the homemade rhubarb liqueur in a VeryPink cocktail recipe. Such a good idea! If you follow me here but have no idea what I’m talking about…in my real life I’m @verypinkknits, YouTube knitting teacher since 2009. It is my real, full-time job.
I had to tweak this recipe a couple of times to get the balance right. I started with a White Lady recipe, with the rhubarb liqueur instead of Cointreau. The lemon juice totally overwhelmed the rhubarb. If you had asked me earlier today, I would NOT have said that the earthy taste of rhubarb is delicate. It is. The proportions I have here allow both the gin and rhubarb to shine, and the egg white adds the smoothness of velvet on your tongue.
One more thing, because you might be wondering how I made the rhubarb liqueur. I have a Drinky-Drink Project website, just follow the link in my bio. I made the website because it is IMPOSSIBLE to find previous posts on IG without a ton of scrolling. But you can search the website, for things like “rhubarb liqueur”, for instance. I’m not selling anything and I don’t run ads so my only motivation for sending you there is so you can find stuff. But I try to make it a nice place to visit, too.
