I found this recipe on liquor.com.
gin, bourbon, Angostura bitters, lime juice, ginger beer
Happy New Year! I thought this drink would be appropriate for New Year’s Day…you can tell by the name that it’s a hangover cure. This cocktail was first created in 1942 at a hotel in Cairo, Egypt for the troops in World War II.
I can’t speak to how well it works on curing a hangover, because I told myself I could drink all of the sparkling wine I wanted last night but I ended up only having a few glasses over, like, five hours. (No hangover.) What I can say is that Suffering Bastard is surprisingly bright and refreshing. I thought it would taste really booze-heavy, but it doesn’t.
I have to keep this in mind and get this on the “summer cooler” rotation list. And take a look at that mint! I bring the plant inside on cold nights and it’s still giving me fresh mint in the winter!
