Sorrentino

I found this recipe on liquor.com.

sweet vermouth, limoncello, Campari, soda, orange and thyme garnish⁣

I couldn’t find any history on the Sorrentino, but I learned that it’s an “Italian staple”, and “part of the Negroni family”. So, if there is a Negroni family of drinks – Negroni is the dad, Americano is the mom, and Sorrentino is their lovely bikini-clad daughter on a beach in San Vito lo Capo. (That is to say, Sorrentino strikes me as the summer cooler of the three.) ⁣

I found this cocktail because I was looking for recipes that use limoncello, and I’m glad I did! This is my new favorite of the Negroni family. A little bitter, a little sweet, a little citrus-y…and the thyme sprig adds to the experience. If I close my eyes while I sip this, I can imagine I’m the bikini-clad daughter on the Italian beach for a minute. ⁣
