I found this recipe on kindredcocktails.com.
sloe gin, Fernet Branca, lime juice, honey syrup, bitters, lime wheel
In looking for more drinks that use sloe gin I came across this one. This recipe is from Jessica Sanders, owner/operator of @drinkwellaustin. I haven’t been there to eat yet, but I see that they have moved their menu to delivery and pickup, and even found a fancy way to mix and bottle cocktails for take-out. (Take-out cocktails has only been legal here since COVID.) Sanders says that Sloe and Unsteady is one of the bestsellers on their winter menu.
The color of this drink DOES NOT JIVE with the taste! If I was name this drink just by looking at it, I would call it Murder in the Mudpit. If I was to taste this blindfolded and come up with a name, I’d name it Berrypicking in the Brambles. The taste is bright and fruity! It’s very good, I can easily understand how it is a bestseller.
Fernet Branca is new to my bar, and I’ve been kind of afraid to try it, because it has a strong medicinal smell and taste right out of the bottle. But just like anchovy paste, the magic happens when you mix it with other things, in small amounts.
