Ramos Gin Fizz

I found this recipe in The Savoy Cocktail Book (listed as “New Orleans Gin Fizz”) and on liquor.com.

gin, cream, lemon juice, lime juice, simple syrup, orange flower water, egg white, soda⁣

I’ve already researched and written about the history of the Gin Fizz (in it’s heyday, extra employees had to be hired in NOLA to do the shaking!). But I haven’t had a chance to try the Queen Bee of the gin fizz cocktails, because I didn’t have orange flower water. (Found it on Amazon, it’s non-alcoholic.) ⁣

This is so very tasty, and that’s a good thing, because my kitchen is a mess! Lots of ingredients in this one. It is creamy and slightly floral with the citrus acid that lingers on the tongue. So good, easy to see why it is a classic.⁣
