Mudslide

I found this recipe on liquor.com.

vodka, Kahlua (coffee liqueur), Irish cream liqueur⁣

It’s totally like 80s Week, fer sure! I’m taking a break from learning about sensible classic cocktails and diving in to the world of bright colors, weird sexual names, and boozy milkshakes. ⁣

The Mudslide was created at the Wreck Bar in the Cayman Islands in the 1970s. White Russians were popular at the time, and the bartender had run out of fresh cream. He substituted Bailey’s Irish Cream, and the Mudslide was born.⁣

Many versions of this drink include cream or ice cream, but the original drink had “no fillers”, according to Carol Boulton, a manager at the restaurant. Just booze.⁣

This is, of course, delicious. It’s like the best Starbuck’s coffee drink you’ve ever had. My only complaint is that I like the bite of booze, and the vodka is nearly undetectable. I’m going to take the advice I read online and try a second one with brandy instead of vodka…I’ll update in the comments when I’ve tried that one. (At the rate I’m going, it will just be a few minutes.) ⁣🥴
