I never edit my photos by adding things like twinkly sparkles, but I had to do something to help this sad, gray drink. I wanted to kick off the first day of the holidays with something bright and pretty, and the photos on the website show a sparkling, lilac-colored drink. Also, this appears to be a riff on the French 75, a cocktail I would marry if it asked me. ⁣

I thought, I’ll use a stemless flute and decorate the whole length of the glass with the chunky, crunchy, shiny sugar! And the studio lights will hit the glass and the sugar and the beautiful color will shine, shine, shine!⁣

So I’m kicking off the first week of the 2020 holiday season with a drink the color of swamp water. Fitting. The good news is that it tastes 100% better than it looks.
