Jasmine

I found this recipe on liquor.com.

gin, Campari, Cointreau, lemon juice⁣

I added Campari to my bar! This opens up a whole world of drinks I haven’t tried yet.⁣

This is a new cocktail, invented in 1985. A young man who was tending bar in college was asked by a classmate to make her “something new”. He created a riff on a Pegu Club (a drink I had never heard of), subbing out the lime for lemon and Campari for Angostura bitters. He named the drink “Jasmine” after that college friend and found out later that her name is actually “Jasmin”, no “e”.⁣

I’m thinking Campari drinks are going to be good. This one is! A little tart, a little sweet, a little bitter – but I can still taste the gin behind it. And yes, I used my pinking shears on the garnish. ⁣✂️
