Hemingway Special

I found this recipe on liquor.com.

rum, lime juice, grapefruit juice, maraschino liqueur⁣

“I prefer it without sugar and double rum.” These were Ernest Hemingway’s words when he tried the signature daiquiri at Floridita’s, a historic fish restaurant in Havana. There have been a few changes to the drink since then, but that’s how the “Papa Doble”, or “Hemingway Special”, or “Hemingway Daiquiri” was born. ⁣

This is really good. A regular Daiquiri (rum, lime juice, simple syrup) was already one of my two favorite rum drinks so far, and this recipe takes it up a notch. (My other favorite rum drink is Cuban Rose.) The Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur is new to my bar, and I was totally unfamiliar with it. It adds a lot of depth and flavor to a Daiquiri. ⁣
