Gold Rush

I found this recipe on liquor.com.

bourbon, lemon juice, honey syrup⁣

This drink is only about 20 years old, but it’s just one ingredient different from one of my favorite Prohibition drinks, Bee’s Knees. Where Bee’s Knees uses gin, Gold Rush uses bourbon, and a little more honey syrup. And strangely, the recipe calls for “one large ice cube”…I think that’s the first time I’ve seen instructions on the number of ice cubes to add.⁣

I went searching for a bourbon drink to try today, because I got a new bottle of Texas bourbon, Herman Marshall. I don’t know enough about different regional bourbons yet to say how they differ, but I can’t learn unless I try!⁣

Gold Rush is tasty. I prefer Bee’s Knees as my favorite honey syrup cocktail, but this one in line with the other icy bourbon cocktails I really like.⁣
