Fuzzy Navel

I found this recipe on liquor.com.

peach schnapps, orange juice 🍑🍊

It’s totally like 80s Week, fer sure! I’m taking a break from learning about sensible classic cocktails and diving in to the world of bright colors, weird sexual names, and boozy milkshakes.

I asked the guy, “Why you so fly?” he said, “Funky Cold Medina”.
– Tone Loc, Funky Cold Medina

You’ve heard this song, right? Or other hip-hop references to Cold Medina? According to Wikipedia, it’s a Fuzzy Navel! Even though, in the Tone Loc video (which OF COURSE I watched today) the drink appears to be a blue liquid with dry ice.

I didn’t expect my drink research to go this direction. In the Tone Loc song, a Funky Cold Medina will either make you irresistible to your love interest or make your love interest a wild sex machine, it isn’t really all that clear. Maybe both.

So, the Fuzzy Navel. “Fuzzy” because of the peach schnapps, and peaches are fuzzy. “Navel” because of navel oranges. Super simple drink with equal parts of these two ingredients.

My first sip of this was AHHH, TOO SWEEEEEET! But it started tasting better on subsequent sips. I even had a second. But the Funky Cold Medina love potion didn’t work on me. I sat and watched a British detective show and worked on my knitting, I didn’t make a single booty call.
