I found this recipe on diffordsguide.com.
old tom gin, creme de violette, lemon juice, simple syrup, cream, egg white, soda
This is the second gin fizz cocktail I’ve tried in the project, but this one is very different. The first one I made was a regular gin fizz, this one is basically a Ramos Fizz with a little creme de violette. It looks like the difference between a Ramos and regular ol’ gin fizz is the addition of cream.
And what a difference it makes! The cream elevates the drink from a sour gin drink with some foam on it to a creamy drink where the foam actually makes more sense. And talk about foam…the egg white plus the cream created foam the texture of stiff whipped cream, and plenty of it.
I also learned the techinque of “flash blending” for this cocktail. Flash blending a cocktail is to use a blender (I used my immersion blender) to blend the ingredients for four seconds, then you pour the contents into a shaker with ice. Then you get the upper body workout of shaking a fizz.
I just ordered some orange flower water so I can give a Ramos Fizz a try…I like this riff so much, I need to taste the OG fizz.
