Dark ‘n Stormy

Goslings Black Seal Rum, Ginger Beer, lime⁣

Wow, this drink has history. In 1806 a guy named James Gosling left England, headed for America, but ended up in Bermuda. So he stayed and started making rum. The whole “Black Seal” has to do with sailors bringing their own empty bottles to fill with the rum, and the corks were sealed with black sealing wax. Goslings now features a black seal (animal, sea mammal, you know) on the bottle.⁣

Goslings actually OWNS the drink Dark ‘n Stormy. And they will sue your ass if you try to use their drink to sell your rum. They have threatened litigation against several rum companies and a cocktail blog. OMG. Calm down.⁣

This is another highly suggested drink in the Drinky-Drink Project. Dark rum tastes SO different from light rum! It is deep and spicy and pairs so well with ginger beer. And this is an easy drink to make. Another one I’ll put on my bar list for when we get to have cocktail parties again.⁣
