vodka, Cointreau, cranberry juice, lime juice

In the name of expanding my mixed drink knowledge, I had to include this drink. Even though I read that it is pretty much a Kamikaze with cranberry juice, and Kamikaze was the worst drink of the project so far. ⁣

A ton of people take credit for inventing this drink. One theory is that it was a girly drink offered up at “fern bars” in the 1970s (see my Lemon Drop post). My knowledge of the drink is from Sex and the City (see image in first comment). They swilled gallons of “Cosmos” on SatC.⁣

I will say this about it – it is a very, very pretty drink. It is a beautiful color, and it tastes better than a Kamikaze. Not one of my favorites, but drinkable. I’m finding that I don’t like drinks that are only overwhelmingly tart (Kamikaze, Lemon Drop), and I prefer drinks where you can taste the nice booze with other flavors. This project is meeting its stated goals, I’m learning!⁣
