Cloister

gin, Yellow Chartreuse, grapefruit juice, lemon juice, simple syrup⁣

I found this recipe in The PDT Cocktail Book, it is also available at mrbostondrinks.com. ⁣

I’ve used recipes from this book several times, but I haven’t said anything about it before. It is a thick book full of beautifully-balanced modern cocktails. A few classics, but mostly new ones. It is my favorite newer cocktail book. (When I say “newer”, I mean fewer than 100 years old!)⁣

I wanted to try this one because of the combination of grapefruit juice and Yellow Chartreuse, because that sounds totally bananas. I was getting the ingredients together on the counter singing “grapefruit JOOSE and yellow charTROOSE!”. It’s not a great song, but it is fun to sing.⁣ 🎵

This is delicious! Gin and Yellow Chartreuse are great friends, and this cocktail has the balance of a gin sour, with far more flavor going on. Yum. It’s only Wednesday, but I’m considering mixing up a second.⁣
