Claridge

I found this recipe on tuxedono2.com.

gin, dry vermouth, apricot brandy, Cointreau⁣

This drink appears in The Savoy Cocktail Book, published 1930. Another book, Barflies and Cocktails (published in 1927), attributes its creation to “Leon, bartender, Claridge’s Hotel, Champs Elysees, Paris”. ⁣

This is my second cocktail using apricot brandy. (I’m actually using peach brandy – I couldn’t find apricot brandy at any store that offers delivery or curbside pickup.) 🍑 The first time I used it was for a Charlie Chaplin. Both delicious cocktails. ⁣

My idea for a garnish turned out pretty, but makes it almost impossible to get a sip. Every time I tipped the glass back, I just got a mouthful of orange peel.🍊 So I’m now enjoying it without a garnish. ⁣
