Champagne Bowler

I found this recipe on thespruceeats.com.

cognac, white wine, sparkling wine, muddled strawberries, simple syrup⁣

Gather up everything in your kitchen, because it all goes in this drink! I couldn’t find much history on this cocktail, aside from the fact that it was first mixed in the 1930s. So. Many. Ingredients. ⁣

I found this recipe because I have some strawberries (purchased for Pimm’s Cup) that needed using before they took a dive, and this came up as a cocktail with fresh strawberries. I’m glad I found it! What a lovely brunch drink. ⁣

My guess, just a guess, as to why this drink isn’t more popular is because of the amount of work that goes into it. Restaurants are going to want to serve Mimosas for brunch over this…just sparkling wine and oj, done and done. This involves muddling the strawberries, then measuring white wine, sparkling wine, and cognac – then shaking and pouring. ⁣

But worth it. What a treat. ⁣
