Another classic, popular during the American Civil War, created in the 1830s. Very much like a Mint Julep, but with brandy, and a little soda.

I like this drink as much as I like Mint Julep, meaning very much. The little bit of sweetness and mint set off the booze very nicely. As I’ve said in previous posts, my tastes seem to be leaning towards lightly sweet or tart drinks that mostly taste like the liquor. This is a nice drink for sipping slowly while working on sewing a quilt. 🧵
