Finally – a chance to use the orgeat syrup I bought ages ago. It’s a sweet almond syrup and a way to sweeten a drink that isn’t simple syrup. It tastes a bit like marzipan.

I still kind of can’t get over the fact that blue curaçao is orange flavored. I think it’s from being a kid who grew up drinking blue Slurpees – blue is supposed to be RASPBERRY.

The Bluebird cocktail is lovely, pretty much an orangey gin sour with some richness from the orgeat syrup.
