tequila, blue curaçao, lime juice, melon liqueur⁣

I found this recipe on the Mixel app. I’m going to go ahead and give the recipe, because I wasn’t able to find it anywhere online.⁣
2 oz tequila⁣
1/2 oz blue curaçao ⁣
1/2 oz lime juice⁣
1 tsp melon liqueur⁣
⁣
I wanted to try this cocktail because I had never seen Midori (melon liqueur) with tequila before. And it’s teal!⁣

This is not an add for the Mixel app, but I wanted to mention it because it’s pretty handy. I was able to add everything in my bar, and when I’m browsing recipes, the app lets me know if I have all of the ingredients. I’ve mentioned before that I get frustrated with recipes that make you scroll and scroll to get to the actual recipe, and then when you finally get there, it calls for mermaid tears and sasquach eyelashes, or other ridiculous ingredients that no one has in their bar. It’s nice to have the recipes filtered for me and my bottles.⁣

Back to this cocktail. Tequila and Midori are nice together, but this drink isn’t all-together a winner. I think whenever blue curaçao is used it is there for the color, not for the taste. Because if yummy orange flavor was the real objective, the recipe would call for Grand Marnier or Cointreau. In short, this would be a much better cocktail without the inferior orange liqueur. But it is a pretty color.⁣
