Apple Cocktail

Sorry, I can’t find a link to the recipe I used for this cocktail!

gin, brandy, calvados, apple cider⁣

“Oh, good heavens”, she said in a soft whisper after taking a sip.⁣

I don’t even normally say things like “oh, good heavens”, but I did after tasting this drink. It is safe to say that I’m happy Fake Martini Week is over. What sounded like a good idea in the beginning became a slog through flavored vodkas, heavy cream, and rainbow sprinkles.⁣

This cocktail is from The Savoy Cocktail Book, originally published in 1930. What a delightful fall drink! It is so well balanced and I’m enjoying all of the calvados (French apple brandy) cocktails I’ve tried.⁣

Speaking of The Savoy Cocktail Book, I’m actually nearly finished digitizing the recipes. I know it sounds like a crazy task, but the book is old and without an index, so unless you know the name of the drink you want, you can’t find sh*t. I’m currently at the 468th recipe, in the Ps alphabetically. (I’m not actually typing out the whole recipe, just the name and the ingredients in separate cells to make it searchable by ingredient.) Maybe more than you needed to know today. ⁣
