I found this recipe on chewtown.com.
gin, St-Germain, frozen watermelon and raspberries, soda
Yes, I made up this drink name. I found the recipe when I was looking for summer drinks that use St-Germain, and I found “Gin, Elderflower, and Summer Fruit Cocktail”, and that is a terrible name for a drink.
Because I used Topo Chico as the soda in the drink, and because the Spanish word for watermelon is “sandia”, and it’s such a nice word, I went with it. I had my Spanish-speaking friend on the phone and we ran through a few possibilities, and stuck with “Sandia Granizado”, or “watermelon slushie”.
Not as slushie as I’d like…the frozen fruit doesn’t blend into a snow cone texture as well as ice does. But it’s cold and refreshing and tasty.
